How do I know how close I am to a margin call?

Your current margin level and projected margin level are shown live in the Kraken Pro interface. Your liquidation price is visible in the order panel before you open and in the position summary while it's running.

What's the fastest way to stop a margin call once it's triggered?

Add more collateral or close part of your position to reduce required margin. Both options are available directly from the position panel in Kraken Pro. Either action can resolve a margin call immediately.

What happens to my other positions if one gets liquidated?

With Kraken's cross margin functionality, the liquidation engine closes what it needs to across the account to restore total equity above maintenance margin.

What is a liquidation price and how do I avoid it?

Your liquidation price is shown in the order interface before you confirm and in your open positions panel. To extend your liquidation price further from your position, simply add collateral, reduce your leverage, or set a stop-loss to exit before it's reached.

Is spot margin trading available in my region?

Spot margin trading on Kraken Pro is available to eligible clients in most supported regions. Availability varies by jurisdiction — certain regions, including Canada and New Zealand, are excluded. In the US, spot margin trading is provided via NinjaTrader Clearing, LLC d/b/a Kraken Derivatives US, a CFTC-registered Futures Commission Merchant. Eligible Counterparties (ECPs) may also access margin trading. Check your account settings in Kraken Pro to confirm eligibility in your region.
